This past Tuesday, on September 25th, a "Keep It Made in America" town hall style meeting was held in Manchester New Hampshire.
This was a first in a series of events traveling to seven cities in twelve weeks in the United States.
The Granite Grok followed the event live. John Ratzenberger, the host of the event, was interviewed here.

"Made in USA" Hot Updates: TOYS
With the recent flurry of toy recalls, parents will be scrambling to find safe products for the Christmas holidays.
Since many of the "problem toys" originate in China (can you spell L E A D?) you might want to look at toys produced in the United States of America.
"Blogging Stocks" has produced a nice article called, "Made in the U.S.A.: What products are still American-made?" that lists several American toy companies. Also see the "USA Products For Sale" listings in the right column of this blog.

Why Buy Made in the U.S.A?
Buying products and services made in the United States, and doing business with the
companies whose operations remain here, has finally become fashionable.
Our retail centers may still be full of outlets offering cheap, foreign-made goods. But no longer trendy, these stores may be facing their personal armageddon.
When was the last time you spoke with customer service rep who did not sound like a
foreigner? For quite a while there has been a huge sucking sound heard in the direction of
India, China and the Philippines, as American tech, telecommunications, and other services are now frequently outsourced there.
According to CIO magazine, "depending on whom you ask, anywhere from one-half to two-thirds of all Fortune 500 companies are already outsourcing to India."
Only Americans themselves have the ability to turn this horrifying trend around. If we are not willing to put our money where our mouth is, then our economy (and each of us) will experience the worst financial drought ever known to our citizens.
Whatever your reasons for making a change in your life, do it now. One caveat. Buyer Beware.
